What is Troubleshooting and how it can be solved

Troubleshooting is a process to solve a particular problem that occurs due to the malfunction of a program or application or system.

What it does is, diagnoses the part from where the problem is occurring and then solve it to make the process or product operational again. When a system is not giving the desired output or there is undesirable behaviour then troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptom and to eliminate the potential cause of the problem. Troubleshooting can be done automatic or manual. The one who does troubleshooting is known as a troubleshooter.

Take for example:

You are connected to Wi-Fi and you use it frequently, but one day for some reason the Wi-Fi is not connecting to the PC you are using so you restart your Wi-Fi router but still, it is not connecting. Then you open Wi-Fi settings in your PC and you can find an option Network and Sharing Center, when you click on that option there you can find troubleshoot problems.

After you click on Troubleshoot problems, it will start to detect problems.

After detecting problems it will ask you to select one option from the related issue you are facing

After selecting the first option it will again start to diagnose

After the diagnose is finished it will show you what was the cause of the problem and it will fix it

This is just a glance at how troubleshooting is done.

NOTE: - These are manual steps; in some cases, troubleshooting is done automatically by the system.

There are few steps in troubleshooting:

  1.  Identify where the symptom is, what kind of issue it is causing
  2. Gather information regarding the cause or symptom. Make sure it is not causing any particular harm to the system.
  3.  Then find the cause and the area it is affecting.
  4. Fix the issue; make sure the application or product is operational again.
